After the martyrdom of the ninth Guru, Bhai Jaita Ji picked up the severed head and moved towards Anandpur Sahib very diligently. Due to Aurangzeb’s order the strict vigilance was kept, so Bhai Ji was forced to make stops in his journey. Bhai Jaita Ji Stopped at Bud Khalsa as it is called today. Bhai ji taking great risk sometimes hired horses or sometime hid Guru Ji’s severed head in a pitcher, reached Anandpur Sahib and become immortal Sikh.
Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara
When Guru Tegh Bahadur was martyred and his head severed from the body, a strict watch was kept so that no Sikh could have a glimpse of the mortal remains of the Guru. Lakhi Shah Vanjara a devout Sikhs, risked his life. Taking advantage of the dust storm he put Guru’s body in one of his bullock carts and rushed to his home. He set his own house ablaze to cremate it.
